Exposing the Student Loan Racket

At $830 billion, student loan debt has surpassed credit card debt. Student loans cannot be forgiven via bankruptcy—these loans must be repaid. I currently have more than $275K in student loans and over $125K in private student loans. As I do not have a trust fund back East or come from a rich household, I will be reluctantly paying these loans off until the day I die. I already had to use six months out of the 13 month limit for a forbearance on two of my private loans because I'm unemployed. Once I use up the 13 months, I will have to pay back the loans (both at ~$450 / month) no matter what. Yay.

Below is an interesting infographic describing student loans in America:

  1. it might be worth it to go teach English on Japan or Korea and find a husband there, not worth it to pay that debt back
